Heating around your bookings

Prepare the heating for the next arrival.

Align supported heating controls with your reservation times. Choose a lead time and a lower temperature afterwards; octopancy connects each action to the appropriate control.

Let the reservation set the schedule

An automatic action can run before, at or after the start or end of a reservation. For example, plan a higher target temperature ahead of arrival and a reduction after the stay.

The offset belongs to your specific plan. Reservation times provide the schedule; they do not detect whether people are physically present.

Connect the right control

Work with a control belonging to your unit, such as its target temperature. Behind it is the appropriate device or technical control point on your provider connection.

Homematic IP use requires an authorised, working connection and a supported, correctly mapped control. Not every function on every device is automatically available in octopancy.

Review what happened

Scheduled actions remain distinct from their execution. The history lets you review the intended time and the recorded outcome of a request.

An accepted request does not guarantee that a room has reached a particular temperature. The building, weather, heating system and device connectivity affect the result. Choose a lead time that suits the conditions on site.

Set temperature limits for guests

Set a minimum and maximum for personal access to a temperature control. Guests can adjust the target temperature within the permitted range. The limits are also checked when the command is executed.

Control devices from your workspace

With the required permissions, you can operate supported controls directly from your workspace. While active personal access reserves the device, direct workspace control remains blocked, including for administrators.

An everyday example

Preparing for arrival

Your guests arrive at 4 pm. You schedule a target temperature of 21 °C two hours beforehand and a reduction after their stay. This is a planning example; the temperature reached depends on your building and heating system.

Good to know

Your questions, answered.

Does this guarantee a fixed energy saving?

No fixed saving is promised. You can align heating times with planned use; actual consumption depends on the building, equipment and settings.

Can guests adjust the heating themselves?

You can grant time-limited access to supported controls. These permissions are separate from any automatic actions you choose to schedule.
